I'm over the moon that the "Standing Stag" has won a Special Merit Award at the LightSpaceTime Nature 2020 Art Exhibition.
I loved drawing the stag and he is the first larger piece I had undertaken. I worked and worked on the flow of the fur and the texture of different parts of his body.
This was the first competition I have ever entered for my art and was nervous to put it out there. I questioned doing it, but nothing ventured and all that...
I was so chuffed to get the email to say it had made the final exhibition and felt like it was a much needed boost, especially when you spend a lot of time solo in a portacabin wondering if what you are producing will be liked.
I will definitely enter more competitions, not expecting too much but hoping nonetheless.
